Description
De Profundis by Serge Lutens is a green floral with a solemn, poetic edge—like a quiet walk through wet grass and cut stems. Chrysanthemum leads with a cool, bitter-green freshness, threaded with violet and dusky plum tree nuances. A soil-like petrichor/earth tincture effect gives it that damp, grounded realism, while incense adds a soft, smoky hush in the background. The result is elegant and atmospheric rather than sweet: floral, earthy, and quietly haunting. Another masterpiece by perfumer Christopher Sheldrake.
