Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella sets its roots back to 1221. Founded as a Dominican friars conventum, it is considered today the oldest pharmacy in the world. Acqua Della Regina, its most famous fragrance, was commissioned by Catherine de Medici for her wedding to Henry of France in 1533.
